Deja vu (2006 crime and science fiction thriller)

The film was directed by Tony Scott, produced by Jerry Brucheimer, co written by Bill Marsilli and Terry Rossio. The plot involves ATF agent Douglas Carlin, who travels back in time in attempts to prevent a domestic terrorist attack that takes place in New Orleans and to save a women whom he falls in love with, Claire Kuchever. Filming took place throughout post Katrina New.
The film premiered in New York City on November 20, 2006 it was then released in states two days later and to Mexico and Canada by the end of November. It was then released worldwide in the early months of 2007. It received mixed reviews from the critics. It was the twenty third successful film worldwide for 2006grossing in $180 million worldwide.
Main Actors include, Denzel Washington, Paula Patton, Adam Goldberg, Elden Henson, Bruce Greenwood, Val Kilmer, Erika Alexander, Matt Cravan, James Caviezel etc.
According to Rotten Tomatoes, the film is rated 57% which Metacritic gave it 59% out of 100 based on thirty two professional critics. It was called a bravura set piece by IGN who gave the film a smashing 8 out of 10. Likewise Michael Wilmington of the Orlando Sentinel rated the films three out of three stars adding, good cast and unyielding professionalism to the mixture too.
Deja vu was premiered in NYC on November 20th 2006 before anywhere else on the planet which helped to give the film $64,000,000 which it got from US domestic box office earrings. This was a lot of the total amount of money which as i pointed out before was $180,000,000, a lot of money.
The film was still nominated for five awards, one being the best science film but that was won by children of men. It was also up there for best breakout performance, film composer of the year, best fire stunt and best work on a vehicle however they lost them too. The film did win one award which was the international gold reel award, a merit derived from the nielsen EDI gold reel award ceremonies.
The film was released on DVD approximately five months after its release to American theaters on April 24 2007. In the following two weeks the film was the second most purchased entity in the US, just being beaten by Night at the Museum.
